Spring 2016
Autumn 2015
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back to school and we hope you had an enjoyable summer.
Your children should already have their new personal organizer. Please take some time to read and sign this if you haven’t already done so; feel free to also use the organizer to communicate messages to the school.
Reading is an important part of the Literacy curriculum, therefore we ask parents to listen to their child/children read at least three times a week and make note of this in the personal organizer. We will reward children who consistently read at home so acknowledging this effort will make sure they get the recognition they deserve, both at home and at school.
As well as reading at home, children should practice their times tables for five minutes each day. At this point in KS2, children are becoming familiar with 6x and 7x tables, however, we will revisit all of them during the year.
Homework will be given out each Friday and due back the following Thursday at the latest whereas spelling tasks will be given out each week and usually tested on a Friday.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to ask or liaise with the front office if you would like to organize a meeting at any point.
Thank you for your support,
Mr. Whyte and Mrs. Hodgkinson
