F2 Expressive Arts and Design
Chinese New Year
As part of our exploration of the Chinese New Year celebration, we had great fun learning a song about a Chinese Dragon with a lot of feet. We created our own whole class Chinese dragon, using material and a dragon head created by Charlotte, and performed our song to the Foundation 1 children.
Tinker Art
In F2 we love to be creative. We have lots of opportunities to explore media and materials and use our imagination.
One of the things we really enjoy doing is Tinker Art. This is where we create pictures using different materials to represent different things. Take a look at what we’ve been up to.... |

Small World
In the small world we also use materials to represent aspects of our world. We then use our mini-mes and the characters to create story worlds with our friends.
The Mud Kitchen
Outside we have a mud kitchen in which we explore and use different materials to make and create the most interesting of dishes! Here are some of the skills that we learn and consolidate through mud kitchen play:

Exploring Instruments
Exploring instruments is lots of fun.
We experiment by making loud and soft noises, creating rhythms, and combining different sounds to make music.

Mix Your Own
We have been learning to mix colours to create new ones!
We created some fabulous autumn colours on the ‘mix your own’ table and we have made some great pictures.
Fireworks
After bonfire night we couldn’t stop talking about the wonderful firework displays we had seen. We made some sparkly firework pictures and had glittery black playdough which looked just like the night sky!
