Throughout their time in nursery your child will be learning many different things based on our Early Years Foundation Curriculum, which covers seven main areas of learning. These are:
Outdoor Play A large part of the Foundation 1 curriculum takes place outside so we ask that your child wear appropriate clothing and footwear according to the weather each day. On wet days children must wear a waterproof coat with a hood and waterproof footwear (e.g. Wellington boots); on cold days a hat, scarf and gloves; on sunny days a sun hat and safe sandals/ shoes. You should also apply sun cream before nursery on sunny days as the outdoor play area can get very hot in the summer. All items left at nursery must be clearly labelled. We access the outdoors in all weather conditions. Cooking Money We aim to offer a broad and balanced curriculum, offering the children a range of experiences to help them learn a range of new skills and practise skills they are developing. An important part of this is through cooking. We aim to cook regularly with the children, and therefore kindly ask for a small donation of £2 per term for cooking resources. |
